For decades, companies have integrated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into their operations to enhance sustainability, address social equity and improve transparency. However, there have been no universal regulations requiring companies to disclose ESG-related information, leading to varied practices and inconsistent reporting.

In May 2024, the European Council formally adopted the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), marking a significant step forward in standardising ESG practices. The CSDDD requires companies to ensure that human rights and environmental obligations are respected along their entire chain of activities. This directive operationalises ESG principles by providing a legal framework, requiring businesses to embed sustainability into their core operations and supply chains.

In the 12th webinar of the GRAM Partnership, hosted by Amfori, we will explore the new CSDDD and discuss its impact on business, supply chains, stakeholders, and the broader implications for corporate sustainability. Panelists include:

  • Laura Wauters, Sustainability Expert, Amfori (Moderator)
  • Valentina Bolognesi, Senior Advocacy & Engagement Advisor, Amfori
  • Martijn Scheltema, Founder of the Erasmus Platform on Sustainable Business and Human Rights
  • Sheela Ahluwalia, Director of Policy and Advocacy, Transparentem
